Cooking with Reon Hobson, Friday 12 July 2016

Reon Hobson, NZ Sheep and Beef Ambassador had us trying new foods and learning handy cooking tricks during his workshop on Friday.

Reon is passionate about NZ beef and lamb and had us sampling cuts of meat some of us thought we would never try like beef heart and sweet breads.  The meat dishes were paired with amazing purees and unusual types of salad greens, accompanied by beautiful red wine from Kurow Estate.  We had a lot of laughs around the kitchen island as Reon demonstrated his cooking techniques, we then finished off outside in the winter sun for our main course and dessert.  A thoroughly enjoyable day!

Girls Day Out, Wednesday 27 July 2016

A fun day was had at Centrewood for the first "Girls day out" workshop. The morning was spent getting useful tips on how to dress for your body shape, latest fashion trends and how to create a capsule wardrobe. Kirsty Kelp showed the girls how to do a stylish pony tail and work out your face shape so you know what haircuts suit you. Suz finished off the morning with how to apply a fresh contemporary look in 5 minutes and talked about how to look after your skin over the winter.

There was lots of fun and laughter round the table over a delicious 2-course lunch. In the afternoon everyone was split up into 3 groups and had their colours done, hair styles created and make up applied.  All in all a fun day out with the girls.

Social Media, Monday 25 July 2016

The Social Media workshop was a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed by all.  A group of 17 small businesses from as far as Gore and Geraldine settled back in front of the fire at Centrewood and were inspired by Facebook guru Claire O'Connell from Auckland.   Claire taught them inside tips from Facebook and useful strategies they can use to promote their own businesses via social media.

Claire freely shared her expertise and answered participants questions throughout the day.  Everyone enjoyed meeting new people over the delicious lunch. It was a very fulfilling and educational day.

Winter Boost with Bevan Smith, Tuesday 14 June 2016

The first Centrewood workshop was a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Our guests gathered round the Centrewood kitchen island to watch and learn from Riverstone chef Bevan Smith, as he masterfully created a range of sumptuous dishes.

Bevan freely shared his expertise and answered participants questions throughout the day.  Everyone gathered on the deck for the final two dishes, made new friends, swapped stories and had lots of laughs. It was a truly memorable day.
